Some people diet like pushing a boulder up a hill, others find manageable ways to get the body of their dreams. Perhaps you are pushing a boulder up a hill?
Unfortunately, if you follow a lot of the common methods of dieting, your experience could be devastatingly difficult. And knowing which method is best can be virtually impossible to figure out.
So here is how to diet flawlessly:
1. Automate: The more you can automate your eating patterns, the easier it will be to lose weight. You see, with automation comes a decrease in decisions and a decrease in the need for oodles of will power. One simple way to automate your eating is to change your environment so that you don’t have access to calorically dense food.
2. Don’t be negative for too long: Not staying in a negative caloric balance for extended periods of time will give you a psychological and physiological break. Your mind will thank you for having some pleasure food every once in a while, and your metabolism won’t crash if you spike it with a surplus of calories.
3. Plan, plan and plan some more: One of the biggest mistakes people make when going on a diet is not planning ahead. This lack of planning leads to hunger and last minute whatever-you-can-find meals. And once hunger sets in your will power will deteriorate. So always have a plan A and a plan B in terms of meal consumption.
4. Go overboard with vegetables: Vegetables truly are the secret to painless dieting. You see, not only do they give you energy, but they also force you to eat less calories because they are so bulky. And few things will give you energy while reducing caloric intake. Now the biggest mistake most people make is not eating enough vegetables.
5. Ignore the fine print: Focusing too much on all the details is the wrong way to lose fat. Instead, look at general patterns of improvement. Doing so will give your mind a break and will increase your levels of adherence.
Dieting doesn’t have to be a nightmare. As long as you try to make the process as automatic as possible, you will get the body you want. So take action on this advice sooner, rather than later!
